Default Cusco Swaybar good?

Hi all, first I have done the search, and seems different ppl say it all differently, so i'm a bit confused...

I have a MY00 and has OEM suspension with A048 atm, it oversteer heavily on the track, so I want to get a stiffer front swaybar to balance it out, was looking at Saner or Comptech, but there is a Cusco one just showed up in the UK sales section, so I'm considering it too.

Anyone know how does Cusco front swaybar compared to Saner and Comptech in terms of stiffness? I know Cusco is non adjustable, but i would probably leave it in the stiffest setting anyway, also it's harder for me to get hold of Saner or Comptech in UK, so if Cusco is more or less on par with them, I may just get the Cusco one...

I would not put Cusco in the same category as CT or Saner. For OEM suspension, you need all the stiffness you can get. Without stiffer springs to compensate, I don't believe the cusco will be enough for you at the track.

But from wot I read, Cusco is 172% stiffer than Stock which is more stiff than Saner's 150% stiffer and on par with Comptech's 170% stiffer than stock, is that not correct?

If you have the staggerred tire setup and want to do just the front bar I wouldn't recomend it. I had a saner and then a Whiteline that is a 30mm bar probably about the same as Cusco.

On track I am a bit quicker and happier with the feel of the car with the stock bar, I tested them back to back.

The stiffer bar is good for autocross and slaloms but on track the car pushes. I found it harder to rotate the car, I prefer it with the backend sliding around.

I have OEM AP1 stagger and size with A048, with OEM suspension, it's just too soft in corner and lift the inside wheel sometime... and I get a lot of mid corner oversteer which makes is difficult to put the power down exiting the corner, I think the cusco is good to balance the car specially with my MY00 rear swaybar and spring combo.

I dont know if it's too do with different person's driving style, but I will want more traction in the back.

yea theres definitely a difference between the older ap1's and the 02-03

I think the cusco comes in 30 and 32mm

A 30mm bar like the whiteline, cusco that should be about halfway of what the saner is on full soft and about 50% stiffer than stock

theres a chart somewhere on s2ki

The Cusco one I just bought is the 32mm one

you are saying that even with a bigger diameter 32 vs 31.8, the cusco is only half of the stiffness of the saner on full soft??? how is that possible?

as I understand the material, length of arms/links etc makes a difference

I mean you adjust the saner stiffness by changing what holes its linked on, the thickness of the bar doesn't change when you adjust it right and it goes from 90% to 160% or something

I run the Cusco only cause i didnt have the money for the other sways but i have to say for the cash its awesome. I got it to settle the rear end down and it did that, but also when i put the back on i put 225s on fron and 255s on the rear(i have an AP2) and -1.2camber front with .05 toe out and -2.5 in the rear with toe at 0.

When from mid pack in rear wheel drive to 2nd my 1st event with the changes and 3rd the next, bot SCCA events. I had just got my S last summer also btw.
