Default Data acquisition opinions wanted

Hey all,
So I am getting ready to move on from my current android based solution to a big-boy data acquisition system but I am curious what everyone out there is using and why.

I would like something I can get engine params logged to so I dont need to have a gauge solution AND a datalogger (looking to add oil pressure and temp via external display)

Looking to record brake / Steering / Throttle in addition to normal GPS / accelerometer which should give me all the puzzle pieces to figure out how much I suck.

The car is an 05 so it seems I would need a string pot for steering angle on either solution.

In a perfect world I will also move this over to my lemons car for the 1-2 races a year I do there.

Most of the S2K challenge guys run G2X so I would be able to most directly compare with them, but the options on the DL1 make it more appealing functionally. So lay it on me, What are you using, why did you choose it and do you stand by your decision.

AiM Solo DL - self contained, easy to swap between multiple cars, predictive lap timer updates very, very often and is very accurate. I sold my Traqmate after testing one out - I had to have one.

albertg also has his racepack g2x for sale as well in the R&C classifieds.

I want his AST 4150s so much. I'm surprised they're still around

Right, I have seen several G2X's go on sale recently and while its nice to grab one on the cheap, im not worried so much about the cost as why many are selling them (upgrading?). On paper the G2X honestly doesnt seem to do much more than an android based solution using trackmaster with external GPS so im curious what people out there like about what they are using and where they feel the value is.

A friend has one of these and loves it. I saw the data it has and it's pretty nice.

So how do you like it and which model did you go with? Is there anything you've wanted to do that it didn't? Are you doing any creative data acquisition with it or just normal lap timer stuff?

Ive never looked at this one before but it looks very slick.

The g2x dash display is fantastic
The g2x predictive is fantastic
These were the primary reasons that I chose a g2x over the many other options.

I have used android and ios and, even with external gps (which helps with the timing aspect), am extremely skeptical re the quality of the accelerometer data. I keep meaning to do an actual same-session data comparison but keep forgetting. I am happy I switched to a g2x.

I have the Track Commander with the OBDII harness, I have an 07 so data from OBD is quick, well quicker than the 5hz GPS unit that was originally supplied, they supply 20hz units now.
