Default Dave Despain going NUTS!

Don't know if this has been posted already... maybe in the Off-Topic forum but it's kind of motorsports related.

Heh heh heh. We all have days like that. Not all of us are lucky enough to have a national audience, though...

When I heard Dave went off on Nascar I was hoping for something better then that. I was hoping for something like "of course there's to much nascar, because ever since this network was bought by FOX it's gone to Hell" Followed by some Nascar is as much like racing as Cheerleading is like Football. OH well maybe next year.

It's a Windows MoVie, requiring the Windows Media Player. You'd need to locate a Mac version or something else that knows how to play them...

Well Windtunnel, for which i had so much hope, did descend into mostly NASCAR, most of the time. Not gonna comment on whether that's good or not, but my die hard Moto GP sportbike buddy (a fan, not a rider), is WAY pissed off at ole Dave . He kind of has this *thing* about NASCAR.

And him from SC and all.

Why the hell do people in this damn country love NASCAR so much?! I'm with Dave. Of COURSE they're going to have NASCAR crap on Speed way too much - it's because there's way too damn many NASCAR fans. But I just don't understand the draw. People I know who aren't race fans don't understand how I can watch a GP or Sports Car race (most people understand and can kinda appreciate Rallies even if they're not into motorsports at all). But I absolutely can't understand how anyone can sit in front of the TV for hours watching those damn stock cars make left turns all day long! Blows my f-ing mind. Puts me to sleep in like 30 seconds. I (no joke) sometimes turn on NASCAR or golf when I want to take a nap because they both help me sleep. Golf is better cuz at least I don't have rednecks yelling about how some poor bastard who's parents named him Dick Trickle of all things is "Goin' like stink today - goin' real good!" And then there's the "technical" commentary

Dick Trickle didn't get to going like stink a whole lot .

Well I was a NASCAR fan before I became a driving and racing enthusiast, and I think that's the thing. NASCAR is racing for the non die hard. It's just so much easier to follow an oval race in tin tops than even an oval in open wheel where they can't touch.

I had one NASCAR fan at work tell me he won't watch open wheel, especially F1, because he just didn't think they had much skill.

Nice rant by the way. Gave me a good laugh.
