Default decision on wheel offset

I am trying to figure out which wheel offset would be advantageous for track use. I am looking at the TC105X in either 17x9+49, or 17x9.5+45. Small difference but I can't figure out which would be the better choice using 255 tires all around, and possible BBK in the future.

1. depends on if you're the im ok with rolling/pulling/tab relocation of fenders or not kind of person and are overfenders in your future
2. do you have a ruleset you have to build for
3. which bbk, they all fit slightly different

1. yea I have had all my fenders modified professionally.
2. no rules just regular track days
3. ap racing

I guess my question is more about does the 9 or 9.5 width make a difference on a 255 tire

If you are okay with rolling your fenders and relocating the rear tab you should go with the 9.5" +45. You will also need to run -2.5 ish degrees of camber or more to clear the fenders.

I am running Enkei NT03's which are 17x9.5 +42 in the front and +38 in the rear with -2.5F and -2.7R camber. I also have the fenders rolled with rear tabs relocated. The rears on my setup barely clear the fender so I wouldn't recommend the +38 but +45 should give you plenty of room with 255's. The small amount of stretch with the 9.5" width was a noticeable improvement in steering response for me (I previously ran 17x9 +45 RPF1 with 255). The benefit of 9.5" vs 9" will also depend on your personal preference and which tire model you go with. For example, if you run tires with a soft sidewall, you will be happy you went with the wider wheel.

IMO there is no downside to running the 9.5" wide wheel if it fits.

run as wide as you can
a 255 is happier on a 10inch rim than a 9.

I run 17x10 +50 all around with -3.5f and -3r with adjustable upper balljoints. Rolled fenders, tab relocation, cut liners up front. Front has plenty of space for a lower offset or wider wheel. Rear looks to be about the limit, maybe +45 would work. Could go wider with the same offset though. I know someone running 18x10.5" with custom offsets all around & 265 RE-71Rs on rolled fenders - no pulling.

Depends on the tire, too. I was running the A052 and that's 9.75" wide on the 10". Now on AR-1 and it's only 9.5" wide.
