disable airbag for track
i search for awhile and didn't find anything i was looking for.
i would like to keep to SRS on when i'm driving to the track with the oem seat belt on. then turn SRS off when i get to the track and use the 6 point harness.
is it as easy as removing a fuse or is there more to it? i also read somewhere that the airbag will not go off if the oem seat belt is not fasten. is this true?

Not sure if this is what you're look for, but I installed a air bag switch (on the passenger side) several years ago in my '05: http://www.airbagonoff.com/
It was around $140 or so, and I did the installation myself in about 20-30 minutes.
I'm sure you could wire it up for the driver's side.

I can't expect that it is since one of the original purposes of passive restraints was to protect people who didn't buckle up.
but you are probably right, i just thought i'd verify it.

i want to disable both driver and passenger side airbag when i'm on track. airbag doesn't do much when using a 5 point harness.

Actually they were designed as a supplement to seatbelts and not as a way to protect those who didn't wear seat belts... hense the name "supplementary" restraint system (SRS)

did some more searching around the net. not sure if removing the fuse will disable the airbag completely since the a capacitor is used to set off the charge for the airbag. the capacitor will maintain charge even if the power is disconnected. also, it's not as simple as plugging the fuse back in. you have to reset the SRS light. i found a video on how to reset the SRS light on Honda.
