Default Does anyone know if Sparco Evo3 will fit?

Hey guys. So I did a search and came across the thread about racing seats but was unable to really find a solid answer to my question.

I'm a fairly large guy (5'10" 300lbs 44" waist) and I'm looking to get a seat that will hold me adequately in my AP2 for HPDE weekends.

I've seen that some people had success with the Evo2 in their car (either removing the door panel and/or center console).

I'm wondering if anyone has first-hand experience with the Evo3. Do you think it'll fit if I remove the door panel and console?

Thanks in advance for the help!

If the the Evo2 barely fit the Evo3 is going to take some
Mods to fit. If you trim the front right bolster you can get it closer to the tunnel. But I doubt will can keep the interior. I trimmed my Evo 2 this way and I know an Evo3 would fit in my car, buy my car is completely stripped and caged

I was wondering the same thing. From what i've measured even totally stripped you would have less than half an inch total at the base.

Im assuming you would need some sort of sliding rails just to mount it the EVO2?

Any thoughts?

I have a custom made fixed mount made with the rear of the seat directly on the floor pan With the Evo2 installed I have about 2" of clearance on the door side rail. I did trim about an inch from the right thigh outside bolster to allow the whole right side of the seat to fit snug to the tunnel. I would shoot a few pictures if I had access to the car, but it is in the body shop gettings its paint job finished.

So it sounds like if I did some shaving here and there and completed gutted my interior I would be able to get away with an Evo 2 easily and an Evo 3 just barely?

When will your car be back from the body shop? I'd love to see some photos if possible before I take the leap and buy my seat.

Thanks again for the help guys.

Oh cool. I can wait a bit, I'd love to see some pictures of your car and the seat fitment first if you don't mind.

Thanks!

The seat is mounted on 2" Angle iron. both side are the same, with the L the same direction. The side of the L faces the inside of the car, the foot points to the outside. I cut off the front seat mount and have a 3/4" piece of square tube as a spacer so the rails are straight. They are bolted through the floor with backing plates. I can access all 4 floor bolts with the seat in the car. I have to mount the right side rail to the seat before I place the seat in the car, then install the left side rail and bolt them both to the car.

I only did this on the driver's side as the other seat is just for instructors.

Here it is from Above, looking down. As you can see the right side bolster is under the tunnel. That is the side I trimmed to fit closer.

Here is a shot from looking down the outside of the seat. You can see the mount. That is 1 3/4" DOM tubing, running inside the door seam. As you can see there is atleast few inches inside of that tub/

Here you can see that the seat fits neatly under the rail on the tunnel.

Here is a shot from over the windshield. The left shoulder bolster has about 2" of clearance.
