I use (and sell) the Race Technology DL1. It is fully expandable with Dash units, sensors, etc...

I have been using it for about 3 years now, and it has helped me quite a lot. It is not something though, that will help you if you do not study the data. I have sold a few to people lately that think it's cool, but never look at the data.

It's great for trying different lines, car changes, and seeing where different drivers are faster. Personally I would go with whatever system most of your friends, or at least the fastest one, is using. Sharing data between like cars is key.

I've picked up as much as a half second in a single corner by changing a line. I figured out what I was doing wrong by data from another s2ker.

I used a drift box setting up my s14a and we got it lapping within 2 tenths of a second and in less than 2 hours testing from fresh. But like all dataloggers it's useless if your not going to take the time to analyze the data. But if you do the benefits are unreal!!
It will also take away the "I was flat out everywhere" statements from drivers, I found this was worth it's weight in gold. I'm going to pick up the new Video Vbox in the new year as it should make things even easier.

Analysis of data like this is a much more complex skill than most people realize. You need to have a properly formulated question before you can search the data for answers. Otherwise you are just going to be buried in data.

The simple questions (what are my laptimes?) are simple to answer and sometimes useful. The more complicated questions are more complicated to answer.

I record every lap I do on my datalogger, and I take video of every lap (assuming I remember to turn on the recorder!). But I don't go back and look at every lap.

Send a PM to sphinkterMC. He uses the Driftbox in his Drift Supra. For a track/roadrace car the DL1/Dash2 setup from Blackey @ LPI is the way to go.

My Driftbox/PerformanceBox review:

But like others here have mentioned if you getting it mainly for the track, get the DL1 instead. The new DASH3 is pretty pimp as well.
