Default Dropping out of VTEC

Anyone else ever have problems losing enough oil pressure (down to the low 60's at WOT) and dropping out of VTEC? I think I was having a combination of after-cooler heat soak, and dropping VTEC due to lower than needed pressure. At temp the car felt N/A...

Have a Medium Setrab cooler (I'll have to look up the actual size)
Vortech set-up with larger after-cooler radiator.
Running new Shell Rotella T6 (4-40)
Oil temps never got above 248 at anytime on track, SPA gauge tapped into pan. After the first session I would run until oil was approaching 240 and then come in, about 2 laps .

When it was happening, Did you notice what oil pressure dropped you out if VTEC?

Didn't have a guage but it was bad I think 60s would be OK I saw 60s once it was fixed and it stayed on can

Do u have load / tps conditions on the VTEC in the ecu? Mi e would come off when I lifted when it was over the rpm limit until I changed that stuff

My VTEC would fail as the oil warmed up I guess the viaosity changed and pressure dropped 220f was about the failure.point

Well, maybe it is my oil cooler... I assume about 5 total feet of hose to the cooler (from Mocal Thermostat samwich-plate to the cooler in front of the A/C condenser).

Dan, can you elaborate on why your previous oil cooling set-up caused a drop in pressure, and what you did to fix it?

Thanks!

I had a horrible setup with ebay stuff and lots of 90's daisy chained relocation kit to the cooler, ebay cooler.

I changed to a science of speed 90degree filter adapter off the mocal sandwich plate and basically followed rorob's oil cooler setup and that fixed the issue as far as VTEC not working was concerned.
