Default effects of going to the same spring rate

pretty simple question....
what if I went from the stock ap1 setup to same spring rates all around? Going to be autoxing not AS obviously but just wondering if this would cause ovrrsteer or under. Thanks in advance. This is also my daily. The spring rates are 340kg. Pretty soft I know. But that's what they are.

u mean 340lbs/in ?

just get a set of CR suspension, the CR spring rate is about that ball park all around and comes with shocks that optimized for that spring rate

FYI tho, AP1 has stiffer spring rate in the rear, which is 1 of many reasons why it's twitchier

i knew the ap1's have stiffer rates in the rear making them a little more tail happy. i just got H&R coilovers and yes, sorry for the typo, 340lb/in at all four corners.
the reason i was asking was because i am going to be buying new tires soon and was not sure if i should go with the recomended stagger or get wider tires up front...

on another note, i seem to be rubbing pretty good on the front right with volks and 225-45-17. they are 17x7.5 +50

staggered and non-staggered is up to you, even CR with 215/255 can go pretty fast

however i say u stay with staggered if you don't have 9" front wheel and big wing

i will suggest 225/255 and optimize alignment and damping from there

I am going to stick with staggered. I was just trying to see if I should go to 215 or 225.
If it would induce understeer, I would go 225. Likewise, oversteer I would do 215.
Still curious how spring rates the same at all for corners effect handling.
Thanks

My guess is that they would provide a bit more balance compared to the OEM AP1 setup. You would probably have a less twitchy rear end. I can't find the thread right now, but spring rates through the model years seem to decrease in the rear and increase up front; my guess is that this was to make the car a little more balanced. Now deciding between a 215 or 225 up front is tough, because as far as I know there's no easy equation to say "if springs are this stiff, the tires need to be this wide." I'd go with the 225 because it seems like it will provide more room for adjustment. You can probably play with tire pressures / alignment / etc. to get it to handle how you prefer whereas you might hit a limit of adjustability with a 215.

For what it's worth (not much since I'm a newb to this), I'm probably going to be doing a custom rate ground control or similar setup with equal or stiffer springs up front.

I'm running Tein RAs (10Kg/mm front & rear) with stock bars & AP1 OEM tire sizes and I like the balance much more than the stock balance. I know they're stiffer than the spring rates you're running, but should be a comparable balance.

I say just try it and see if you like it.

^ I am running that same setup and find the car understeers like a piggy.

But when I put my V710's on 245/275 it's ok but I would still like to dial out some understeer...

Weird... maybe different alignments? I was running the UK alignment. Different damper settings? Different tire pressures? I seldom had issues with understeer unless I did something wrong.
