Engine bay stripping
About a week ago, I started this topic in another forum, and got 0 response, so I decided to go right to the source where I thought the knowledgeable experts would be:
The purpose of this is to clean up and simplify the bay. Though my car isn't boosted, nor will it be in the future, I'm hoping to replicate my friend's success with an increase in reliability and diagnostic simplicity when he did the same to his B5 A4 1.8T.
I have a desire to remove as many unnecessary hoses/lines/clutter as possible (without actually shaving/tucking the bay). I know about the air pump and associated delete kit, the AC and proper accessory belt replacement, the cruise control and swapping the CC throttle cable with the actual throttle cable (its shorter) to eliminate the weird loop, and that's pretty much it.
Any help/links/guides that can help me strip away ANYTHING that isn't 100% needed to run the engine (emissions stuff, etc can take a hike) and hopefully get my bay looking more like the pic below would be greatly appreciated!
