Default engine blow up!:(

Hi, I race a westfield with a F20c engine and gearbox, the car has been very successful and won the championship for the past two years, Unfortunately at the weekend at the last race of the year it put a con rod out the side would any one know of or have a bottom end for an f20c ( I know not much to ask) as I cannot afford to buy a complete engine. Im in N.Ireland by the way. Thanks.

that sucks you should be able to find a motor fairly easily, your problem will probably be shipping

I have a short block but it needs to be resleeved.
Jeff, AKA Hardtopguy, can get a new short block for 2k plus shipping. Thats where I got my second motor from.
But as the others said...shipping will be a pain!

If you haven't already try the UK S2000 site, will be a lot easier on shipping; you may even be able to pick it up (short ferry ride?)
I'm sorry to hear about your detonation!

It was a 2003 engine. The blow up also put a hole through the dry sump pan, Just to add to my luck..lol Thanks for your reply's, I think I will have a look at the UK site as shipping, as you've mentioned could be a real problem.

Have you been able to determine the cause of the failure? Surely a dry sump kit would prevent low oil pressure even at 2 g's, unless you tossed the belt. Too many rpm's? Weak con rod? Just curious.

The engine was over revved on a missed change nearly two seasons back, but the retainers, springs and rod bolts were replaced, so I guess this could be the cause of the failure.
