Default evasive track video...

For those of you that have seen the Evasive record holding video vv Doesnt the car seem to have a lot of oversteer?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9v6u...ature=youtu.be

Just seems like the back steps out so easy.. I understand it helps the car rotate but wouldnt a slight stager help you keep the momentum up? Like a 255/265 set up?

Just wondering as after a fender bender im in need of new tires, rims, and maybe some fenders... No 265 in 17 im seeing so maybe 245/255 would be good for me? Could do 18 in 255/265 but my college budget like the 17 route more lol... any input from you more experienced guys is appreciated. (im supercharged as well)

Thanks

I wouldn't use that video as a basis for your tire choice. Much of the oversteer in that car is driver induced. The steering inputs are jerky, and there is too much on-off-on-off-on action on the right side pedal. The car is already upset before it gets into the corner.

You are correct, momentum is key. 255 square is a nice setup. I always liked the 235/255 setup for certain tracks. 245 is too close to 255; May as well just go square and reap the benefits of being able to rotate tires front to back. Regardless, you can dial out oversteer if you decide to go square. Don't let the extra over steer worry you.

And the comment comparing it to Senna... No.

Do you have anything to contribute to the original post or are you just trying to derail it by soliciting an argument? No one is offending you, calm down.

Im not using only the video for deciding what tires/rims to buy but just the fact iv done a few 180 since I bought the car a lil over a year ago. Not saying Im the greatest driver or dont have more to learn but I do drive the sh** out of it all the time. I was running 235/40/18 and 255/35/18 up until 2 weeks ago when getting onto the freeway and got too much rotation and smashed my driver side wheels into the curb. No amount of countering was going to stop it either.

Long story short I need new rims/tires.. and some input on what would be optimal for the car.

I think if you stopped driving the sh** out of it all the time, you won't be smacking curbs. Doesn't sound like a tire issue.
