F1 coming to TEXAS
I was hoping and praying F1 might come out to Miller Motorsports Park here in Utah but, realistically, I knew the venue wasn't a target for Ecclestone. The track, however, is pretty phenomenal in terms of speed, runoff/safety, and accommodations. Oh well.
Congrats Texas...

I can think of a few reasons why it wouldn't go to Miller but I'd like to hear yours.
I hope I can make the F1 inaugural events, as well...though July is gonna be BLAZING hot down there. Eeeeesh! I hear Austin is beautiful though and it has lots of airports to fly into so getting there shouldn't be too pricey, I think.
My parents and brother live in San Antonio (70mi SSW) so I'll absolutely be at the inaugural event. July is usually mid to high 90s and August is even hotter. Last summer or the one prior there was a 30+ day stretch where the high every day was 100+.
Regardless, Austin is a really excellent city. More like San Francisco or Boston than most other cities in California.

I'm so excited for this. Obviously I think a lot of people would like it to be at the LBC street circuit but still, anything in the U.S. is a big
for me. I'll be at the first one for sure. I hope I can find out more info on when tickets go on sale because I'm sure they will sky rocket.
Boring track? Jeez...heard some things about Miller but not that it's boring. It's the longest, fastest road course in NA...possibly the safest, too. A couple more grandstands would have needed to be built to support the crowds. Have you been to Miller, man? The spectator areas are horrible? Tooele is a bit far from SLC, agreed...it's a big desert though which is why they put a big track out there. I've been to Indy, Laguna, Summit Point (I know, shouldn't be in the same sentence), and Miller. The facilities are world class, man...it's immaculate.
I went to World Superbike on Monday. The Miller group put on one hell of a show. There were loads of people from all over the world and tons of activities (karting, drifting, an Army helicopter, stunt shows, BMX show, Jeep/offroad course, etc...). There wasn't that much stuff to do at Indy when I went to F1 there.
Anyway, this is all for nothing cuz Utah won't ever get F1. I'm actually happy that it's in Austin rather than Jersey, though. I have heard so many good things about that town. I think it will give foreigners a different perspective on what the USA can be like. I think people from other countries think of NYC and LA when they think of the USA. Austin will have a bit of a different feel. I can't wait. Hope to be there but it won't be cheap, guys! Start saving!
