Default FP Autocross Setup

So I took the car (2001) out for the first time this weekend at a test n tune in Alabama. It was definitely a learning experience. The car oversteered like crazy. Part of this was me getting use to the car I'm sure, but I also believe the car needs alot of setup work. I am running the KW V3 coilovers (515lb/in F and 515lb/in R). I also was on a 2 year old set of 245/40R17 slicks.

I am very new to all the suspension adjustability. Last year I ran HS in a Honda Accord. The previous owner of the car gave me his alignment and balance specs.

Weight balance is F52% R48%.
Camber -2.5F, -2.0R
Toe -0.86[sup]o[/sup]F(toe-out) -0.52[sup]o[/sup]R(toe-out)
Comptech Front Sway bar full stiff. 178% over stock
Rear sway bar is disconnected

Rebound in the front is 2.5 turns and Rear is about 1 turn.
Not sure about the compression right now.

I am going to Dixie in two weeks and am clueless right now. I am going to order some new A6s and am thinking about ordering some softer spring rates for the rear. I am running Advan RG2 17 x 7.5 +43 and 17 x 8.5 +50. I was thinking about running a 275/40R17 in the rear, but the offset could give me problems. I was also thinking about moving the weight balance more to the rear, maybe 55%.

Any setup suggestions would be great.

Your toe settings are way out of wack. I don't think anyone would run that much toe out in the front, let alone that much, or any toe out in the rear. I think AP1 toe specs call for .20-.25 degrees of total toe in for the rear.

Yeah I thought the toe looked out of wack. The total toe out in the front is 1.72 degrees and 1.03 in the rear. I will definitely need to fix this.

The car will be completely different on fresh rubber, but yea, that toe is way out of whack. I run pretty close to zero toe all the way around. With the rear bar disconnected, I definitely wouldn't soften the rear springs any, either.

No, do not get softer springs.
You could either get stiffer springs for the front or, *(recommend)* Get A Saner front sway bar. This bar is Autocross Proven.
It can completely tame the rear end so much, you'd think you were back in your accord.
and I dont agree with the removal of the rear bar.

He's got the comptech FSB, so he should be in great shape there.

I believe I would start with a better alignment before making any changes to parts... especially the toe. I'd might try zeroing it out.

Thanks for the helpful tips. So zero toe all the way around? I was thinking about leaving it toed out alittle in the front. What about the camber, does that good for a start?

Like others have said, Adjust the alignment and new tires before you make any other changes. Trying to dial in a car on old slicks is a waste of time.

New A6s have been ordered and are on the way. An alignment will be done by the end of the week. What about the weight bias? Should i bias it more to the rear? I was thinking about 52-55% rear. Its 52%F and 48%R at the moment. The left and right are not neutral balanced, this needs to be done I suppose.
