Default Front Aero Discussion

I am about to buy a high mount APR GT-C 200 and want to discuss options to offset high speed front end lift that will result from the wing. I want to do this on a budget, ideally <$150. I like the APR design, and might try to replicate it, but maybe have it stick out a bit further.

I would probably use something like masonite instead of aluminum though, but retain the metal support rods.
I'm not sure if I want to couple this with a cheap lip, or just mount it on the bottom of the bumper. Any ideas for mounting or other suggestions in general? I want to be able to remove it quickly.
As and alternative idea, I also I am throwing around buying a replica mugen lip and reinforcing it.

Lets start a good discussion!

PS I couldn't find any actually data on front aero, so it would be helpful if anyone has any.

You should ask Kel at Evasive to make one for you. The splitter he made for StinkyTofu was absolutely rock solid and beautiful!

I have all of the tools and know-how to be able to make it myself, I just want to see what approaches other people went for. Especially in regards to mounting points.

You can PM Mark (MugenRioS2K). He made his out of aluminum. He can stand on it, and he isn't as skinny as I am

I think they want a few grand for that setup.

Here is the build thread on my splitter for stinkytofu: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=715842

As Antonov mentioned, it is a pricey setup, but only because of the fiberglass work required to make the Amuse bumper fit. A splitter made for an oem bumper would be significantly cheaper.

I made a couple of splitters out of 3/8 plywood. This one I made as big as I thought I could go--it's right at the NASA size limit. I really thought it would drag in the Karussel on Summit's Shenandoah Circuit, but it didn't. It actually works well. I was able to crank in more rear wing since the high speed push is gone. High speed braking is also better. Since I have the points available for TTB I plan to add some vertical end strakes to the outside edge to keep air on the spoiler as it goes around the nose. I'll try a smaller version later. I used to run the APR but it's so small I don't think it did much.
