Default Front and Rear Different Tire Setup

Hey guys,

I had a brand new set of Yokohama A032R this weekend when i took it to the track. Bad news is, I went out in the dirt and punctured one of the tires. Because its discontinued, I can't find a replacement for it.

My question is, do you guys know if i ran A048R in the rear(the replacement of A032R by Yokohama) and A032R in the front.
How will the car behave with different tires front and rear with similar tread life? Any advice?

my setup was 245/40/17 all around.

Thanks

First, do you have the M or MH compound of the A048R?

Don't mean to bring an old thread back to life..but I just threw a set of non stagger rpf1's on and used my oe tires well front tire is stretched like ghetto stretched and I'm not liking it at all. So I'm going to buy two tires for the front now my problem is I know in the near future I'm switching to RE01R. How bad would it be if I ran oe RE050 245/40/17 front and the RE01R 245/40/17 rear. The RE01R are about 20 bucks cheaper per tire.

Depends on what you plan on doing with the car. If it is a daily driver, just becareful when you take the onramps and offramps.
If you plan on tracking the car, then what other mods do you have?

Last year, I ran 225/50/16 S-02's all around on 16x8 wheels and for most city driving situations, the oversteer was not an issue but I do have OTS Koni's and a Saner front sway bar set on the Saner stiffest hole.

Since it is a daily driver, then 245's front and rear with the RE-01R in the rear should be fine.

Agreeing with the Canuc. The 01 is vastly stickier than the stock tire regardless of width.
