Default Front tyres wear before the rear?

I've been tracking in the last few months and realised that my front tyres are worn before my rears are. As this is a rear wheel drive, i'd have thought that the rears would go away first?

Anyone with any suggestions why the fronts would wear quicker than the rears?

i am on bridgestone RE050 stock tyres.

It's called "understeer".

would it be related to the driving style or would it due to the stock alignment setting?

hi mike, thanks for your input. is it due to both these factors or primarily one of these?

let me share why i brought this point up.

i am actually getting rears worn more than the front but other trackies are getting fronts more worn than the rear

my alignment settings are -1.75 deg with 0 toe up front and -2.5 deg +0.26 total toe in for the rear. Caster at about 5.75 deg

in both cases of front or rear wearing faster, wear is even across the face of the tyre.

what sort of track driving would lead to this sort of wear? it seems like the trackies lines and mine may differ greatly from the resultant tyre wear.

Typically the the more heavily loaded front tire wears out fastest of any tire. It usually does more work than any other tire, unless you have way too much power for your rear wheels.

If yours is wearing less than theirs, you are understeering less than they are.

+1 It's normal the front tire worn faster than the rear, even it's a RWD.

It could be a number of things like suspension settings, driving style, alignment settings, tire pressure, etc.
