Default fuel cell in the trunk

Hi, if I were to put a 10 gal fuel cell in the trunk to run on E85, would this upset the balance of the car too much for the track?

TIA

You mean, in addition to the OEM fuel tank?

Yes it would change the balance as your fuel level changed.

so it wouldn't affect the balance as much if i can find a way to fit small tank in the spare tire location?

well 10g is about 70lbs, I'm pretty sure you can tell the diff between having 70lbs in the trunk at the start and 0lbs at the end of a run (or some portion there of).

Never tested it, but it's not to far fetched to see how that should make the behavior of the car change as you run out of gas.

I am more concern about the location of the tank's weight, so best location would be replace the stock tank with a fuel cell to run upgraded lines and external fuel pump, this way no addition weight in the trunk, but it's piaa to get the stock tank out

yeah, it shouldn't be -that- bad to get subframe out. it all comes out in 1 pc once you disconnect a couple minor items. You do need to disconnect the brake lines, but thats not that big of a deal

You could put the tank in the passenger well if you wanted both tanks Is this a dedicated race car?

yeah, the subframe has to come out, it not hard, but takes time

it's a weekend car for now, the car is so much more fun on the track, i think it'll slowly becoming a race car as I improve my driving skills.

I thinking going with one tank, since the fuel cell is easy to drain and replace fuels; instead of running 2 tanks with shut off valves on 4 lines.

the passenger well? are you talking about the spare tire location? if some how i can fit a 10g tank without removing the stock tank, but I don't think there's enough room.

No, he means the place where the passenger seat is now.
