Funky Handling Pops Up
I've tracked my S-2000 25 days in my first 15 months of ownership. When I bought it I immediately took my car to the shop and had them max out front camber (2 1/4), set the rear at 2 1/2, change the toe-in in the rear to 1/8, and kept the other settings the same. I put Volk TE-37's on it with Hoosiers (225/50-17 front, 245/45-17 rear) and found the car handled like a dream. I had no understeer, mild oversteer (though I had to learn a lot to drive the car stably at the limit without spinning, which I did often).
At the Streets of Willow, where I take lap times, I got my times down to 1:17's. Then the problems began. The car started feeling really twitchy in the rear end. I thought I was imagining things, but I had a very experienced driver take it out at the big track at Willow Springs and he agreed. I've been back to the Streets twice and my times (same course, same setup) have dropped to 1:19's and 1:20's. I've had the car realigned twice, laser sighted, and the suspension looked over three times with no results.
Someone suggested bushings, but this seems unlikely to most experts I've spoken with. I'd rather figure out what the problem is first before throwing in coil-overs or a front sway bar (though I'm looking for brand recommendations from anyone for both these products (lower cost the better)) since that might just mask the problem rather than solve the underlying problem.
The car has 26,000 miles on it (over 2,000 on the track). Could the shocks, springs, bushings, or something be bad?
Any ideas?

Thanks for the input. Is it based on experience?
I also forgot to mention that there is noise in the rear suspension travel when the car is jacked up and down. Sounds like creaking metal. Any idea what that is?
