On further thought, the points system would likely be simpler than a list of exceptions, and bumping up the limit to 225 points for MOD would be nice (though it's scary to think that that would allow Hayashi another 110 points in Mod . ).

I think 200 pts is fine. It effectively limits you to either:
1) Hoosiers+coilovers+CAI
or
2) RA-1s+everything but the kitchen sink.

The extra expense of running Hoosiers vs. RA-1s is nicely offset by the cost of those extra 50 pts worth of mods. Remember, all the "easy" mods are basically free this year, so it takes quite a bit of $ to rack up 50 pts.

My selfish request to bump to 225 is so I could still use my 17" CE28N's and Comptech adjustable swaybar (35 points) that I already invested a lot in to optimize for MOD when it was 100 points.

I'm for this proposal, and for giving modified as many points as is reasonable.

He Al, looking at your car, reasonable for you may be totally unaffordable for others .

Well, actually, I've set up my car to be in the MOD class this year as well, but I just couldn't make it to the first two events. With that being said, I'm having a tough time keeping points under 100 , so reducing to 3 classes is not a bad idea.
