Arrow Fx or F1 racing flywheel. Anyone try this?

Anyone give the fxracing flywheel on eBay a go?

Wanted to know as my buddy wanted to try it.

It looks good and identical to my fidanza at half the cost. The weight is even the same at 7.5 lb.

any help would be great. Thanks !

Never heard/seen it. As someone who has run the findanza and now on the act pro light, this is probably an area I wouldn't play trial and error with, for two reasons, its a lot of effort or money to remove the trans and replace a flywheel so you only want to do it once. Its also a pretty vital part to the function of the engine and would not want to have some issue with inferior machining, balance etc. You talking about saving $100-$150? Is that worth the risk?

On a side note, my experience running a findanza for 5-6 years and about 80-100k miles was great all the way up until I went to replace the wearable friction disc. After this I could not get my clutch PP to want to stay secured to the flywheel. After several attempts unsuccessfully, I gave up and tossed it for the improved single piece design of the act pro light. The Findanza weighs 8lb and the act 8.5lb, well worth the added .5 for increased reliability/longevity. Your already balls deep, but just a tip for your next clutch change, may want to consider that as an opportunity to make the change before you go down the expensive and frustrating road I did.

The buddy is saving over 800$. The kit is stupid cheap. I'm very curious to these kits but iv never tried them as I stayed with act.

I woukd try them but but then again I'm afraid they will last only one session on the track with my kinda of abuse.

Kit? Doesn't make sense. The findanza flywheel cost $280-$300. How is your buddy saving $800? We are just talking a flywheel here right?

Then you say you have stayed with ACT, but run a Findanza. I'm confused by another one of your post.

I would run a eBay single piece flywheel.... I would not run an eBay pressure plate, clutch disk, or release bearing.

Ahh, well this would just reinforce my feeling on things. I would not trust those components. Too much at risk if it goes bad, and based on all the problems with using cheap PP on this car, I will say there is almost a guarantee your buddy will have issues in the short term, if not right out of the gate.

+1 for running the Act. As they say if the price is too good to be true, it probably is. A friend of mine replaced the clutch on his civic, bought something like a $250 complete kit. 2000 miles later and the clutch is already toast. Try you convince your pal over to some quality parts. Will save him real $$$ and headache in the long run.

Cheap 14lb/Ap1 or Act pro light flywheel (some good quality 10-11lb options ie Toda etc but why bother going half way) OEM friction disc and bearings and a high quality PP with favorable track record, of your choice. = less money spent in the long run, best longevity and reliability and performance for applications at/under 500whp/380trq. Making more power then this, should be shopping for a good twin disc to retain reliability wile retaining driveability.

I bought and have been rocking the F1 racing Chromoly/steel flywheel for a couple years now. It was dirt cheap and I read a couple reviews from s2ki where people said it worked so I said what the heck and bought it. I'm not sure I'd trust an Al or multipiece cheap flywheel, especially w/o any reviews. For a clutch, there's no way I'd cheap out as even good companies have had issues with clutches much less cheaper knockoffs. Who knows, some might be made in the same factory as an ACT or other brand name, but not worth it to me.
