G2X Question
Finally, I was able to grab my G2X from the race car and will be putting it into the S2000 for a time trail event this coming weekend. Before pulling out the shop manual and starring at wiring diagram's for an hour or two, has any hooked up the OE G2X fittings to read RPM's on a S2000? If so, where did you splice from? Any issues with setup?
Also, where do you have the unit mounted? I was thinking about bolting down the display to the underside of the passenger side sunvisor. This should offer a fairly clean approach as the display doesn't weigh enough to reposition the vision when on the track and can be flipped out of the way easily enough when not desired. On that note, does anybody have a sunvisor for sale?

I pulled mine off of the same feed I used for the Modifry beeper. See the Modifired Products website for more info. (Download the beeper installation PDF.)
I sunk some screws into the dash and installed a little sheet metal bracket. I bolted the display to that.
Before then, I used an old brake pad box that I taped to the dash with a liberal amount of blue tape. I'm sure it would have come loose in a crash, but it never came loose in normal operation.

I use velcro and stick my display on radio door (I can still open and put in CDs no prob)
main unit is velcroed underneath my passenmger seat
you can get the rpm read from those wires in front of passenger side, underneath the airbag

If you flip through Grass Roots Motorsport, there are a number of vendors which sell the unit. Mine came from TRAC Racing Depot in Montreal.
Ninja edit........
Just thinking about it, I'm guessing most places that sell MSD Ignition stuff would have access to this product line. As for pricing, Racepak is pretty strict with there dealers on this point, there were a number of shops which got into trouble a year or two back.

Sorry to bring this up from the dead, but I just picked up a G2X and I had a couple questions...
1) is the power supply identified in the Modifry installation manual sufficient to power the G2X (12-18V)? The G2X recommends installing a 2-5A fuse to protect the box. Is this necessary or does the wiring already have a fuse installed?
2) the Modifry kit comes with T-tap wires--what is that and where can I get it?
3) I noticed a lot of people choose to mount the GPS antenna on the metal right anterior to the trunklid--how do you route the wire that way if you have a full interior?
Thanks in advance!
