Default getting alignment today

getting an alignment today.

i was going to just re-align at the ap1 uk specs, but thought i'd seek out the opinions of the track guys before heading in also.

plan to track every few months, and the car gets about 7k miles a year street. so tire life isn't terribly important, but i don't want to burn them up with a super aggressive alignment i'm only going to use several times a year.

thoughts?

If you're new to the track, don't worry about alignment. Just get all of the wheels pointed in the same general direction and focus on your driving.

Pedal, I don't think I agree with your point of view. Just because he's new to the track does not mean he should go with the car ill-prepped. A poor alignment can really throw off the handling of the car and make it difficult to drive.

Hero, the UK specs are fine.

i would recommend adding more camber. perhaps 1.5 in front and 2.3 in rear if you can get it at your height.

i was running the uk alignment when i started tracking and 1 degree camber for the front wasn't enough. i was wearing down the outside of the tire much faster than the inside.

my car now sits at 2.5 degrees all around, but i still dont think it's enough. granted, the car is set up much differently now.

gl!

Ryan, I started on UK spec, and I was getting wear on the outside of the tires just from mostly street driving. I did what terahertz did and it seemed better. Just my 2 cents.
