Default Going Fast at Willow Springs

I'm going to be back at the fastest track in the West for two events this month. First up is September 3 and 4 with TracQuest. They're kind of 'spensive ($445 for two days), but they get weekend dates like this one, and -- because it's Labor Day -- I'm told they've got pretty light turnout so far, which means lots of track time for those who show up.

And then there's the old stand-by, September 21 with Open Track Racing. Sure it's a Wednesday, which means calling in sick at work, or whatever. But it's loads of track time for very few dollars ($145 for one day).

Both are great groups. TracQuest is a little more high end, with some amazing late-model cars and lots of instructors. Open Track Racing is more casual -- like a bunch of guys getting together for a barbecue... with racing.

Any S2000's interested in spending some time near redline?

I'd love to make the 9/3-4 TQ event; convenient days for me but pricey. Do you get a lot of track time in advance group, and do they provide timing? I have an AMB transponder if that matters.

I will be at Street of Willow with the Alfa club on labor day weekend. I'll will try to make the Sept 21th day. I'm already planned to run Big Willow in October with the Alfa club.

I'm a beginner so I trying to avoid running big willow but sooner or later I will have to scare my self on that track. Currently I feel more at home on SOW.

For a rookie.... Fear should only be an excuse if you completely lack all self control.

Walls, speed, turtles in the track, Just go drive within your limits and enjoy the day.
