h&r coilover kit
I don't know, but there seem to be a lot of kits out there. I hear good things about Buddy Club, but I don't see any posts about them in the Racing and Competition forum. Maybe some of the more seasoned folks can tell us why these highly advertised shocks and kits aren't used by the serious racers.
I dunno, there could be folks more interested in street performace or just bling (in which case I guess they shouldn't be posting here - so I'm full of it
), or perhaps just compete locally, in which case, unless the opposition is running big bucks stuff - why overkill. Personally, until next year, I'm purely local. Doesn't mean I'm not serious (~22 events a year, March - Nov, for 7 years). I don't need/can't afford that level of prep (Moton etc). I've just installed Koni yellows, and informal testing seems to indicate a benefit. Formal testing tomorrow will prove/disprove that. For my dollar and skill set, I'd MUCH rather put the $3000 plus for the high end units on a 3 day Racing school at Skippy, Bertil Roos, etc - and throw in an Evo school for a small over-run. I can get a lot more out of my car - a lot more, before I need Ohlins, Motons, Penskes whatever. Depending on my development this year, I can either look at revalving the Konis or selling 'em cheap on ebay and purchasing the big boys. Uhhm, somehow I think not on the latter. Like I said, Racing school, or heck, even a hard top to get on more tracks here in the NE.
Oh wait, that's what the other car is for - which BY THE way, i did have H&R coillovers on. In that application, E36 M3, they were a good street kit, semi-acceptable for autocross, but not really the top choice for the buck for track applications.
..there's a dogface out there under fire right now. Don't forget 'em.
