Hankook Ventus V12?
Anyone driven on Hankook Ventus V12 Evos at the track? How did they perform?
Looking for a reasonably priced tire that would be suitable for daily driving as well as the occasional autocross/track day.
I would love RS3s, but DTD has them backorded with no ETA, and I think they might be a little overkill for a DD as well. I know I could get them from TireRack, but I'm going to be ordering wheels from DTD and would prefer to order tires as well to save a lot of hassle. Its not that big of a deal, and if V12s are that bad on the track I might still get RS3s, just thought I'd look into the V12s first.
So I was wondering how the V12s perform? I know they won't be nearly as good as the RS3s, but are they even worth bothering with or are they really only suited for the street and nothing else?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

If it is just daily driver I would say go for it on the v12s to save some money but since you want to do occasional track and autox I would hold out for the rs3 myself. I am just replacing my first of set RS3s after running them for their third year of mixed autox and daily driving. YMMV of course especially since you are turbo'd but they do make a good compromise between performance, price, and longevity.
I don't have any real input to add for v12s as I have never tried them.

Ive run both. V12 is a great street tire that is great in all weather situations. Rs3 is gonna give you less miles and definitely not as comfortable in a downpour. I would say though that the difference in mileage is lik 15k for v12s vs 12k for streetted rs3s. In that case id choose the rs3 because the performance benefit way outweighs the costs and they are the same price or cheaper.

I have the V12's and autox every event this summer. on a track course just over a minute long i am behind a car with the RS3's by ~1.8 seconds. Now I have heard of people running out of these ties fast but I have had NO problems so far. I have gone 11,xxx miles on them with 4-5 auto-x days running camber at -2.4fr/-2.1r with a 1/4 toe in the rear and I have hardly any tire wear (cant see Lincoln's forehead yet!) I just make sure that they are aired up at the right PSI all the time. I will try and take a picture of them later today to post them up. I have no clue how they act at a track though
My experience autoXing with v12s is that once they are hot they are super greasy and its hard to get em back. I do however live in south louisiana where the summer autoX ambient temps are well above 95 degrees usually.
