Default Happyness is......

getting all 4 rotors for $20!

I use my S2000 for AS SOLO II and have a Miata as my dedicated track car. Part of the reason I got the Miata was part/maintaince costs. I just got a full set (front and rear) of Carbotech XP8 pads WITH rotors for $253 ($233 for pads + $20 for rotors).

I love my S2000 (and it is a superior in just about every way to the Miata) but I have to say the Miata almost ties the S2000 on the fun factor scale at the track (and the Miata gets bonus points for being cheap so I don't worry so much about stuffing it into a wall).

Z06 rotors are about $28 each....talk about a bargain.
I just paid $130 EA for my front Wilwood Rotors. Pads are only about $80 though.

more than the Miata itself??

BTW, can the rotors you speak of be readily obtained for $5 per or is that a special promotion for buying the pads?

having driven plenty both, the miata can never satisfy my need for speed. they're just too slow.

old s2ks are cheap now too.

Cool on the $5 rotors.

I have not seen the little bastard since the initial confrontation.

The $5 rotor deal is available for a variety of different types of cars direct from Carbotech withe the purchuse of pads. Give em a call and see what they can do for the S2000.

The Miata is pretty darn slow but on some local tracks (Summit Point Main and Shenandoah) it is not that much of an issue since it is mostly turns. I'll be at VIR for 4 days in a month and I expect the straights will be a little boring (boredom broken by frequent point-bys). On the other hand, it is fun to give a point-by to a much more powerful car on the straight and than jump right on their ass in the corners.

I could always spend $3k and throw on a turbo.

It's even more fun to blow by everything on the straights and STILL pass everything else in the corners.
