Default Harbor freight floor jack

Anybody have experience with this floor jack? It blue and silver and they call it a "racing jack". My concern is will it roll under to the central jack points. My car is 13" from wheel ctr to fender. Thx!

i carry this jack around in my car actually. It hardly ever moves by itself, and i was thinking about getting a second one, but i don't need two.

You shouldn't have to worry about it rolling on you.

I have that jack and it works fine... its small and light and easily picks up the s2k from the sides. the front jacking point is a bit tougher to access but still doable. it's great to take to the race track in the s2k, but for home i use something bigger.

I think you'll have to drive onto some boards to get more clearance at that height in the front, but then it'll be fine.

If you're at 13" all around, it could be tough to jack the car completely of all four wheels. I'm not sure how other people do it (drive onto 4 ramps?), but at 13" front and 13.25" rear, once I get the front of the car on jack stands set to their lowest height, I can barely get enough clearance to move my jack handle with the jack under the rear diff. I had to flex the bottom of my rear bumper to get that clearance.

Raising the car higher than the lowest jack stand setting requires me to jack the front onto the stands at the lowest setting, jack the rears up, then go back to raise the front more.

fyi, the height of this jack at the lifting platform when lowered completely is 3.5 inches . so your side jacking points need to be that much off the ground to make it work.

posting the distance from fender to wheel center means very little since the fender can be bent.

I think he was asking if it would reach the center jacking points.

Rear, maybe. Front, probably not without drive-up / on ramps.

Rear is fine on my car, haven't tried the front.

Just a heads up. I've had one of the casters collapse (exploded at the joint that holds the ball bearings), so be sure not to have any limbs under the car while it is supported only by the jack. The rest of the HF jacks I've used are fine so that one must have been a freak accident. Still scary as hell.

yea I also have this jack. If you drive up onto some boards you can reach the front jack point. What I do to put it on 4 jack stands is

drive up on boards in the front
jack it up and put 2 jack stands on the front 2 sides.
lower it onto the jack stands

walk around to the driver side and jack the car up
put a jack stand under that side
then go around and do the same to the other side.

Where do you place the jack for the rear? I dont like to use the frame x bone place for the stand. Why not lift the back from the diff?
