Hard dog roll bar issue
Mods not sure if this belong here or "under the hood" Thought more possible users of the equipment here move if needed please.
I have had my hard dog roll bar in for a couple of months now and have a couple of issues with it. Wondering if any one else has had similar and if so how, or if a fix is possible.
#1: The forward Stay for the soft top rubs on the top of the main roll hoop. I have tried to adjust the top motors to make a little more room bur to no avail. My fix for now an old bicycle tube electrical taped to the offending spot.
#2: The top no longer seems to go all the way down as it bottoms out (the small round joints) on the rear Roll bar stays . I am going to use my bicycle tube method again to stop the offending rattle. Right now I have the interior back in place but can take it back out again this fall winter if needed to modify things.
Just wondering if any one else has any insight to get me thinking in the right direction. Using my car for HDPE hoping maybe to step to time attack type stuff next season but I still have to drive to and from for now. Baby step to making a dedicated track car. TIA

your top shouldn't rub the bar when you put it up and down. Or even when it's bolted up for that matter. Leads me to belive it was a little off when it was bolted/welded in.
I didn't put my interior back in place, but I do notice that the top rubs on the rearward vertical bars of the rollbar when it is fully down. I didn't notice it not going down as far or anything though.

Mine doesn't rub anywhere at any point. Did you double and triple check clearance before you drilled mounting holes/welded?
I have the Hard dog with welded diagonal and welded harness bar. If it makes any difference.

I was really careful to center everything when I put the bar in and had no issues.
The clearance is VERY tight so during install I was very careful to ensure it was centered, I would move it a 1/4" one way 1/8" another way until I got it perfect.

I was at the rack recently and another guy with his new hard dog had the same issue top rubbed going up and down and top wouldent go down alll the way . maybe there JIG got bent or deformed from heat or something . I would call them to see what they say . Good Luck
Had the hard dog bar in for 2 yrs now with zero issues... and to be honest i found that during my 9month build Bethania Garage won for being the best to deal with and i was very impressed with their build quality.
My guess is install

Thanks for your responses all. I am not at all unhappy with the quality of the bar. I spent a long time trying to make sure the bar was centered when I instaled(many trials) so I dont think I messed that up. It seems like the whole bar is just a liitle too far back but I put the front feet right where they belong. I am not sure how it could have got too far back. Any way I suppose I will live as I dont use it too much except that any track is a big trip from my location.

I got luck (as much as one could given the situation) that someone was sitting right there at Canada Corner, the fastest part of Road America, when it happened. If you want to see to full roll-over, here it is.

The thumbs up was to indicate that both my passenger and myself were completely unharmed, despite the roll-over occurring in a place where the braking starts at 135 mph.
I know that this has nothing to do with the OP, but the result of my incident was posted (again)......
The actual quality of the hard dog is fine. I also saw the same bar that SilAp1 did. It clearly wasnt an install problem, the bar was wide enough and far enough back that it interfered with the mechanical linkage on the sides of the top. The top wasnt even close to going down all the way.
As a fabricator I can tell you that without cnc equipment there are enough variables in tube bending machines for this to happen with even the best of companies. With any bar, a degree here or there or the start of a bend being off by 1/8" can make a big difference in an S2000.
