I love Harry's Lap Timer, sure, it has it's bugs here and there (not registering start/stops, video not capturing, etc), but for $25 or so, it's much cheaper than a full data/vid capture system.

The problem I'm having right now is, I have so much going on before I get on track:
1. put sweaty/smelly suit on
2. put head sock on, adjust headsock 15 times so I can see and breathe
3. helmet and HANS
4. remove helmet because it messed up headsock
5. get in car
6. get out of car because my gloves are not in the car
7. get back in the car
8. get back out of the car because mobile is not in the car
9. get back in the car and mount mobile on mount
10. plug in dash cam, as a back-up for vid capture
11. turn on go pro
12. setup mobile for timer and vid
13. put harness on
14. put gloves on
15. go to grid
16. take gloves off to turn off mobile, because we're gonna be sitting in hot pit for 15 extra minutes.

This is the one that pisses me off most. Here is my list:

1) Put on helmet and HANS
2) Get in car
3) Put on steering wheel
4) Connect 6 point harness
5) Setup Race Chrono on my phone and windshield mount
6) Start motor
7) Turn off VSA
8) Drive to grid
9) Start FlashPro datalog
10) Put on left glove
11) Wait for grid guy to give one minute warning
12) Reach back and hit the top button on my Hero 4 Session
13) Put on right glove
14) Sweat my ass off till they release me while my turbo continues to build up heat

If I shut it off at any point then I have to unbuckle to reach my FlashPro to restart the datalog which sucks and remember to turn the VSA off again.

LOL, that's cute. Us Android guys have been enjoying one touch recording and synchronization of external GPS, OBD2 data, and video for over a year now. RaceChrono can do all of the above and start/stop my GoPro wirelessly without me having to touch it. The software even does all the post processing for me while I drive home from the track. Can even use PerformanceBox software (Circuit Tools) with the raw data.

Sorry, I haven't drank the Apple flavored Kool-Aid.

LOL. With RaceChrono, I hit start, swipe left, and hit record. That's it! Everything else just works!
Bluetooth GPS
Bluetooth OBD2
WiFi GoPro

All integrated together and no need to 'Jailbreak' the phone to use all 3 devices at once. Enjoy your walled garden, you poor iFruiters...

This video took my Google Android phone less than a few minutes to render. But yeah, blame Google, lol.

He wasn't the topic starter, I was/am. He's just clarifying any misconceptions that any of us might have, after all, he's the subject matter expert. I, for one, feel blessed/thankful that he's willing to contribute to the discussion.
