Has anyone tried
My Time Attack wheels are coming in late June. I've tracked shaved RA-1's on my oem wheels before. I know some of the "track-only" S's run 235/275 RA-1's w/ a boatload of negative camber.
My car is not track-only, but I do have an extra set of AP1 oem fronts. I was thinking of putting the 225's back on them and 255 on the CE28N rear wheels. This keeps the overall height fairly close. I then would leave the Toyos on the fronts all the time and only have to switch out the rears.
More importantly, however, is the impact in handling. If I weren't sc'd, the previous 225/245 on 16's would be plenty of tire for my skill level. I'm not sure that only a slightly wider footprint would be that advantageous either, save possibly the increased sidewall stiffness. I know other cars have varying wheel diameters, but I have no clue as to whether or not this will help in the S2000's case. If it were a great solution, I'm sure you all would already be doing it.
TIA,
Skip

Thanks for the responses, gentlemen.
Bryan, I might have to look into some used NSX wheels. The larger footprint might help to keep me out of trouble, but not necessarily make me a better driver.
Pete, I ordered some Volk CE28N's(flat black w/ red ring) some time ago and sold the gold SF Challenges.

Hey Skip, are you staying staggered with your new set up? I'm about to order a set of 17x9 CE's for myself at all four corners. Sorry for the hi jacking.
As far as your actual question goes, the wheel diameters are fairly irrelevant as mentioned, but with 16's the front will have a taller side wall which can sometimes take away from steering feel, which isn't that important, but some drivers like a thin side wall up front for more feel while sacrificing a little braking performance.

). Too old to change styles now.

I don't think there's any rubbing with 17x9 CE28 with 255's. Doesn't with either of my cars, and others' experience as far as I know is the same.
You're running 255 up front, huh? What size in the rear- 275?
