Default Having trouble with alignment...need advice

I posted this in the Under the Hood forum, but didn't get many responses. I just had an alignment done and could only get 1.11 deg. camber on the left, but 1.96 on the right. The tech told me that he could not adjust the left any further which probably means something got slightly bent when I went off road a while ago. However, I do not know what I need to replace in order to get the alignment exactly adjustable again. Here is the original thread: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...&threadid=77645

Question for autoxers, I got my car aligned with the OEM UK specs, but what effects will it have on my handling with two different cambers on the rear?

you will have more rear grip when turning left than when turning right.

My RR camber was maxed at 2.2, but my LR was at 2.5 with room to spare. what I did was took a drill, hammer and prybar to my camber plates and made more room to get more negative camber. I drilled the hole further towards the outside of the car, then hammered the lips of the camber plate towards the outside of the car to make use of the new space for the bolt.

Sorry, forgot to specify. These specs were for the rear wheels done by my local dealer. The guy seemed pretty knowledgeable, or I'm just a real gullible guy. They were nice about doing the alignment that I specified though, I'm just a little perturbed that my LR camber cannot be adjusted any further. I have a feeling I have to replace some suspension pieces, but don't want to spend the money if it isnt' going to fix it. I would like to get an even more agressive alignment, but I don't want to completely kill my street tires as this car is driven most of the time.

Unabagler, did you do your own alignment since you made your own modifications to the camber plates?

Eventually I'm going to take it back to an alignment shop to have them do it with the computers n all that jazz...in the meantime I'll be running with maximum camber, whatever it may be.

The upper mounts in the front are prone to damage - check those; I'll bet good money that's why you are not getting as much camber on the one side.

As for toe in the rear...a lot of us have discussed this at length, and adding more toe is not going to do much for you except wear out the rear tires. Some very fast autocrossers (and I won't kiss and tell) have even tried toe-out in the rear. Personally, I run between 0 and 4mm total toe-in in the rear.

a little toe in in the rear is good b/c when you accelerate the rear squats and the toe goes towards the outside...if you have some toe in then you'll get to zero toe and maximize your contact patch for acceleration.

I would think that if the upper arm is bent that would increase negative camber...
