Default Helmet Shield Tint

Hey guys, I have an HJC AR-11 helmet and it came with a clear shield. My sunglasses hurt when I wear them under the helmet. HJC wants $80 for a tinted replacement shield. Have any of you tinted your clear shields with any success?

o come on now.
that is mice nuts when you really think about it.

I use a clear sheild on my 900 dollar helmet and it seems to be fine to me with the hard top.

fyi I have never heard of anyone tinting a helmet shield.

just buy the 80 dollar screen and enjoy it....

small cost compared to what you spend on tires and brakes...

just reading you sig line you have well over 10k in bling, mods, and tuning.
spending 80 bucks on a tinted screen so you can see when your at the track or autox seems worth it to me....

Comptech SC/AC, 3.6" SOS pulley (~10psi), Tein RS's, HKS Exhaust, Godzilla BOV, AEM EMS, RC 440's, Clutchmasters Stage III, Modifry's Shift Beeper, 'n some show parts...

sorry to post so many times in this thread but it kinda bugs me when someone asks a question that would save them so little....
just a pet peeve of mine..
o and mice nuts is from Krazik's boss.

The question didn't ask your opinion. A simple 'no' would have sufficed. I'll buy a tinted shield.

If you drive with a roof then a closed shield will be hot. Maybe try a different design pair of sunglasses, like those with thin flexible wire frame.

I bought a tinted shield for my Bell when I bought it... but if you want to save $$$ I'm sure a tint place will give you a piece of scrap big enough to fit the visor
