Default Hoosiers for standard rims (2004 AP2)

Stock Rims:
Front 215/45-17
Rear 245/40-17

Do you use 225 45 17 for the fronts?
The 245/40-17 for the rear is available in Hoosiers

Thanks,

Jim

I run 245/40F 275/40R on AP2V1s. With 3.5*F and 3* R camber, contact patch usage is very uniform, and it rubs very slightly in the front (I'm lowered 1.5in in front in order to get that much camber- if you get a camber kit and are 1.25in or less lower than stock, you should be totally clear).

If this is for autocross and you get a camber kit (assuming its one of the class legal products), that will throw you out of stock class put you in a class where you can choose your own wheel size where you would obviously go with a much larger tire.

Good point. That said, if you're lowered (on coilovers, in my case), you're already out of stock class. I don't know of any way to keep A6s in their happy camber range on stock suspension.

What use for the original poster? Time Trial? HPDE? Autocross?

Note, like Marc said, you can technically even squeeze 275s on the front AP2 wheels. I've tracked that way at the local kart track. They'll rub on the fenderliners. Worse on springs softer than what comes stock on a CR. But you can do it.

275's on a 7" wheel?? i believe it's doable, i'd just be too terrified of the bead unseating to ever run it, much less on a kart track with kerbs you can easily hook onto the backside of...

that said, i'll bet your entry speeds (and braking distances) were pretty f***ing incredible...

275 fronts are the standard fitment on autocrossed CRs (on stock rims), but we should clarify that we're all running Hoosier A6s, which are designed for, and thus very happy, crammed onto narrow rims.

I ran 245 Goodyears in front mid-year which were less happy than 275 Hoosiers as an additional data point. I have seen some people run 245 RS3s on the front wheels, but 235 is as wide as I'll go with a street tire on stock front wheels.
