How does the comptech blower do on a track
I'm soo stuck right now, about to pull the trigger on a comptech blower but I have a final drive on the way 4.56 and I find out I can't use them together. My original plan was to get the j's header, test pipe and j's 60RS exhaust and then install the final drive. I heard that set up is very good on a track when used with a 4.77 or 4.56. but for the money is it more effective to buy a blower and use no final drive? I'm hearing the comptech isnt that great at the track at all because it is soo peaky and theres no real power gains over a stock s2000 except after 6000 and higher RPM. but a final drive with bolt ons would put just as fast or even quicker thru the curves.
j's entire exhaust system and final drive is about $3000
15whp or so
comptech blower, stock everything
100whp or so
help me out guys I'd really appreciate it
Thanks

A well driven NA S2000 is still very fast, the blower makes the car much faster on the straights and off the corners, but actual corner speed is about the same.
On a track with long straights add +10 MPH with the same entry speed.
Save your money for brake pads and rotors.

Uh-oh! I guess I need to remove my gears or the blower!
I'm really no help. I do have both and have been on the track both NA and sc'd with the 4.57's. On a track, I would think that you'd rarely be under 6k rpm.
As gfacter stated, you'll see more gain from the sc on tracks that have longer straights. The car can still only take corners at certains speeds without upgrades in the other areas.
Since you didn't make mention of gutting the interior for weight reduction, I'm assuming that you'll be daily driving the S as well. So you should look at it from that point of view as well.

I recommend that you take off the blower. I'll even take it off your hands.

because you'll zip thru from 6000-8000(peak boost and powerband) way too quick, meaning you'll be boosting for a second or two
Defender(Eliot) has an AP1 with 4.77's and an AP2 tranny/engine. He uses the AP1 ecu(pre-'02 type). His car has enough guts that some simply supercharged cars do not walk him. Perhaps this may be of interest to you. PM him for his impressions.
