Default how to fix Flatspots?

I ran auto-x STR without ABS the other weekend and flatspotted my brand new RE-11's :/

I can see patches where the treads lower feel it on the highway ~ like a wheels slightly out of balance.. I checked all the weights are still there

A friend told me what I need to do is put the fronts on the rears and go do a massive burnout to fix it.. that work?

Buy new tires? That's what everyone I know does.

Your friend's approach could theoretically work -- he's basically saying you should remove the same amount of rubber from the rest of the tire as you did from the flat-spotted part. Whether your tires could handle that level of sustained heat without dying is an open question. You could try to accomplish the same thing by shaving your tires, but that would be tough since (a) many tire shaving places won't shave a used tire, and (b) I imagine it would be tough to do a shave that restored a square tire to round.

I wonder if shaving the tire will work ?
I do know putting it to the rear will lessen the vibration.

Isn't it hard to shave a non-new tire?

Most places won't shave a non-new tire.

In the 60s and 70s some tire stores offered a process called trueing which was similar to shaving but only shaved the high spots. The quality of radial tire back then was so poor that the process was required to make the ride quality bareable. If you can find an old timer with a trueing machine,he could probably help you with your flat spotted tires.

well I put the fronts on the rear and when I got in I realy felt the vibration coming from the left rear at low speed

went did some burnouts not very well smoked the clutch but it seemed a bit better after that

its weird the vibration gets less at high speed so I think I will be ok to drive it to the track.. might try and have the wheels re-balanced there if its bad
