Default how to get my 60ft time down

I went to the track when my car was basically stock with exhaust and ran a 14.4 with exhaust as my best run. Got a few more mods now including 4.77s. I race my buddies stangs from rolls and the yellow one is an 04 gt that runs a 14.00. Were even.
The blue one, is one with 4.10 gears, runs a 14.2 (bad driver) and beats me everytime.

Here is the thing, I will be embarassed if I go to the track and run a 14+ with my gears also. Any hints on getting it down to around a 2.0?
thanks

mods are in sig

edit: i was launching around 5 grand and no wheel spin and get up and go...

i konw the S isnt a drag car, but it should run 13s , thats all i want lol

First of all you picked the wrong gears for 1/4 mile racing. The 4.77's force you to make an extra shift at the end of the run or ride the rev limiter. 4.57 would be the way to go.

Second of all, drop your rear tire pressures. Try 25 psi and raise the fronts to high 30's. Depending on track prep and your tires etc 2.2 isn't horrible. If you have good track prep and a set of drag radials you should be able to get down to a 1.8. If you're on all seasons or something like that you won't get to your 2.0.

Good advice from Cosmos. If you're really getting no wheel spin you're probably bogging the motor. Fastest AP1 launch always required more wheel spin to keep the motor in its power band than other cars. Haven't tried to launch my AP2 hard yet (still has CDV in).

Try launching from any rpm above vtec engagement. Mine tends to bog at anything under that. Atleast that is what I've found for my stock gears when I launch for autocross.

actually to me the 4.77s are better for drag. plus they make it very forgiving if you bog from the line. If your quick enough the extra shift wont kill you anyways. mid 13s should be easily attainable. Good luck. 6k launch feather ftw!

I launch at 6000 RPM and just slip the clutch.

Gets me some good 2.0 60' times consistently.

try 6k and make sure you have some wheel spin to avoid the " my diff broke " thread.
