Default how to get started drifting

One of the only intelligent responses:
everything you need to know will be answered there, by people who actually drift, and know what they are talking about, not what they read in importracer.
I especially liked the guy who was advocating learning how to drift by watching anime.

How to become a Drifter:

1) Quit your job
2) Buy Guitar and VW bus
3) Move to the SF bay area and Pan Handle on center medians
4) Smoke pot and drink w/ the money you beg for
5) Goto Phish Concert at least yearly
6) Drive somewhere else with homeless friendly weather
7) Start over at 4.

You can't get that kind of advice from any Import magazine.

Now that I think about it, a lot of the best snowboard jokes do translate:

What do you call a ricer who is dumped by his girlfriend? "Homeless"

What's the difference between a ricer and a large pepperoni pizza? A pizza can feed a family of four.

What are a ricer's last words? "Hey guys, watch me drift!"

In your case, step one is "Go to school for 8 years, pass BAR"

Dude, in my case it's:

1) Go to school for 8 years, pass bar
2) Look at race car in garage, then look at unusable race tires and contemplate what it would be like to have a job and money for new tires
3) Take a nap

Haha - jk, I've been interviewing and networking. No job yet, but I'm workin' on it.
