I'd rather use the right head with the block. There are air pump differences and cam sensor differences with the 05-06, and it may be a bit confusing to sort them out.

Looks like a Honda Head is $1400 and change, along with the Block. So $2,800 and change all-together according to hondaautmotiveparts.

I was given a quote of $3000 + 400 shipping from Honda Racing and Majestic Honda was about the same. That's a complete 2005 block without head or water pump. They list a complete head for $3500.

Spets, your prices sound like an empty block and head.

New block from HTguy is ~3k shipped.
2006 head will "fit" but will throw codes if not retro'd...you can get a air pump fix from Izz IIRC to make the head work. Id just get the right year for your car.

It been forever, but I tried to order a shortblock from Majestic (online) and they would not do it because of its size.
HT Guy can match their prices though and at the time, hes the one I bought my block from.

Jeff,

What happened to the engine? Never seen failure like yours before. Is your crank still good? If it, Im interested

I bought a new shortblock about 2 years ago for like $2800. Had endyne do the head and replace all the valvetain with OEM new honda stuff. If your looking for a motor I've got that one sitting here. Has less then 1000 miles on it. But it's an 06. I pulled it to put a K24 in the car.

RobRob, I was looking at Majestic Honda's pricing for the block and head and I picked the value of the box that surrounded the head in the diagram., but I wasn't sure if that total price was a complete head/block or if I needed to total up everything on Majestic's page.

My apologies.
