Default How much tape do I need for the front bumper?

I'm doing a road race this weekend at Grattan Raceway in Michigan. I'm planning to tape off the entire front bumper with the 3M green automotive painter's tape. My roll is about 1.88" wide (the double-width). Is one roll usually sufficient to do the front bumper + headlamps?

I would do the whole car...
you will get chips on the rear bumper from all the downforce and rocks that fly up from the excessive speed!!!
there is rumor floating around that the blue stuff is stronger than green...
good for at least 200 mph where the green is only 175 mph.

sorry could not help it..

Didn't your mother ever tell you to always use protection?

The more tape, the faster you go. I also recommend taping the entire car.

If you actually are racing, tape is the last thing you should be worried about.

If you're just doing a track day, suit yourself. I never taped my S2000, but I consider it a car, which gets wear from use, and I don't care about tiny little things that might hit my bumper.

And the big things that might come into contact with your bumper won't be too scared off by tape.

Going to the same track day. I'll be taping up the car for the ride there. I find I get a lot of bugs and rock chips on the highway. Not too (or as) much on the track itself short of an off-track excursion.

I'll probably take the tape off for the actual track time cuz...well...I hope people take pics/video of my car

I taped the entire front of the car before the I drove down to the dragon. Did the whole front bumper and part of the hood and fenders all the way back to maybe middle to the front wheels. Didn't do the headlights. Used a little over a roll of 2" painters tape. But I did it a bit sloppy cuz I was in a hurry (ie, probably overlapped more than I needed too if I used straight, flat, lines).
