This is why the WD hitch didn't make a difference for you. Without the self-leveling feature a tow vehicle's rear compresses and the front extends which causes handling problems.
Not to beat a dead horse but this is not exactly true. The self leveling bags keep your headlights pointing down but does little to nothing for actually transfering weight off the rear axle to the front. The weight transfer is only due to the change in COG and the only alignment angle that will effectively change is caster and you'll actually get more letting it sag
I'm getting prepared to trailer a new to me S2000 and want to make sure of the placement of the J or T hook attachment points. So they insert into the frame at the yellow arrows?? The oblong holes at the rocker panels?? I thought the frame would be better but those holes don't look like they'd hold the hooks very well. Is the rocker substantial enough??
Yes, what you have highlighted with the yellow arrows is correct. According to the manual, that is the proper way to strap the vehicle down. Many here, including myself, have towed our S2000s that way with success for many years.
Some people find it tricky to get the R hooks in. It does fit and it's super secure once its in there the right way.
Make sure you have 3 wraps of the strap around the barrel of the ratchet minimum. Once it's secured nice and tight check it all of them after you've been on the road for 30 min or so,
Make sure you leave the trans out of gear. There's no lubrication in the engine when it's not running and if the car is in gear you are moving the pistons a little bit without lubrication.

Thanks, I didn't want to he hard on the tranny or diff leaving it in gear. Kind of want o put on the e brake though...something about it being able to move around if something does go wrong with the straps.
