Default I Praise of "Ultimate Speed Secrets"

I just picked up a copy of Ross Bentley's Ultimate Speed Secrets book from Amazon for $16. It's a great book and different than the other Speed Secrets series in that it's a fat 335 pages of great stuff that will make you a better driver. It has the best of all his books rolled into one very well written volume so it's an incredible value. Most of the chapters are kept short for easy, bite-size consumption (it makes a great bathroom book). I guarantee you will get more out of your track/autocross time if you read this book.

Next time you need to pad your Amazon purchase to get to the magical $25 free shipping, add this book, you won't be sorry.

I find "Ultimate Speed Secrets" very high level, like cliff notes. It's a good book, but I think "Going Faster" covers it better.

Yes, I agree Going Faster is a good first book on performance driving but I think most of us on the R&C forum are at the level to get a lot out of Ultimate Speed Secrets. If you are only going to read one book on driving then yes, Going Faster is a more appropriate read.

Agreed re Ultimate Speed Secrets. There is a good amount of meat to it and a worthy buy for the money. I think there is something to gain for drivers of all experience levels.

I picked up the Ultimate Speed Secrets and have yet to read it. I am planning to read it this summer on my deployment. I am just now getting into tracking. Would you guys suggest the Going Faster book before this one? I will have time to read both of them .

Yea, I'd recommend Going Faster first as it's aimed at all of Skip Barber's students including novices.

I actually read Ultimate Speed Secrets and Going Faster, over the winter. Really like Ultimate Speed Secrets, and it will stay in the trailer as a reference/reminder
