Default Indy V8 Honda

..anyone every tried sourcing one?!

http://www.indycar.com/tech/engines.php

not an actual one maybe from previous season.

Not sure if this belongs here but I was ever amazed by the idea to put a
Honda V8 in the S and racing it.

I believe that this would be an incredible engine no doubt.

This caliber of engine is typically rebuidt about every or every other outing. No to mention the initial cost.

Try looking at the V8 built by Radical which redlines at 10,000 rpm and puts out 460 hp. This engine is used in their SR 8.

Radical makes a number of engines that can be purchased separately including the V8.

Hope this is useful/interesting

1st...I want a Honda engine
2nd...radical V8 engines tend to get on fire easily (seen in reality)
3rd...the radical V8 isnt cheap either and needs rebuilds too

you can chnge the engien specs so it has a little less output but will last way longer before rebuild

You can also buy Mugen v8 engines...tehy are around 30000 USD
They were used in Fomula 3000 series

Too bad Honda doesnt build production V8's which one could take as a starting base

Aren't they coming out with an RL V8? Probably too big to fit in the S2000.

Team auctions happen from time to time. I've seen someone on here purchase a rolling (Reynard?) chassis. Engine will probably be harder to source as they are sometimes (most times) leased

If rylan can make 400rwhp out of a stock bottom end and have it last an entire racing season, just build the bottomend to highschool bolt on performance levels, kick up the boost and an extra 20% should be possible. (near 475rwhp) . thats near 550flywheel hp out of a little 2.2L
