Default intake

Does anybody have experience with anything other than an oem intake that doesn't hurt performance and doesn't cost $1000+? I can't find an answer with the search, but theres got to be something so I could get rid of all that weight of the oem system. This will be used for racing.

The rules for the class I race in (SCCA T3) require me to use the stock intake. On a loaded Mustang chassis dyno we saw 5 hp to the wheels with a Spoon filter. I am going to do more testing over the winter with other filters to see which produces the most power. The stock intake is already very well engineered.

There are 50 billion intakes to choose from. Search for CAI. There is nothing special about any one brand over any other.

I had an AEM in my old S2K. Lots of noise. Good for a few HP according to those who have dyno'd them. Saves weight, probably.

I like the Supercharger brand intake.

Uhm any aem style is fine for you. I have a custom one I ran before the SC that is good for ~5 hp over an aem, but itsn not cheap and was one off. But its not unlike the oem design.

And getting your panties in a bunch so easily you're probably gonna have a hard time fitting in here. We're a bunch of smart asses.
