Intermittent "clunking" when shifting into gear after track session.
As the title states:
- I have been having intermittent "clunking" when shifting into gear after track session. - Only occurs after track session and only for the first (<3) few shifts and then goes away. - Have NOT had any trouble shifting into gear (just make odd clunk sound when shifting into gear) - Happens after a track session - Diff/Trany fluid were replaced 1 month ago. I suspect mounts may be loose and the engine and driveline maybe misaligned after tracking the car. Any ideas? |
Mine does this too, I always assumed it was poor clutch disengagement and the clunk is the driveshaft suddenly loading up.

Can also be a sticky input shaft bearing—spinning the input shaft like the clutch would, but with a low enough force that the syncros can overwhelm it.
