iPod touch lap timer?
When I had my MaxQData setup via suction mount it fell off once in a turn. Almost chucked the assembly out the window. After that I made sure to clean and wet the suction cup beforehand as well as tether it. Never happened again.
Now I'm using my Android phone and Trackmaster software. I just velcro it to car dash/gauges. Can still see the tach and my speed is displayed on the software.

It worked fine as a lap timer which was mainly what I wanted it for. I compared them with the video from my onboard camera and the times were accurate to the .00 sec.
I just walked to the start/finish line that morning and set up a POI. I used the classic timer and hit start before getting on track. It timed all of my runs. Some of them didn't trigger and have multiple laps under one time though. I didn't video with the phone because my mount was too shaky. You will get better results with the TomTom mount.
Good luck!

i use Harry's Lap Timer with Palm Treo along with a AMB transponder. the laps time from the Lap Timer are usually within .01 sec of the transponder.
i'm selling the Palm Treo with Harry's Lap Timer now because I'm using Trackmaster app on my Droid X.
