Default Izzy's hardtop bracket

Has anyone else had issues fitting the side brackets to a Mugen top? Not sure what's wrong with my set but with the mount flush against the two holes on the unibody, it would require a large spacer to fit the 3 bolts on the top.

EDIT: wait I know, you have to get the new "racing" version from Izzy's...I had the same problem...just call him up he'll know what you're talking about

This was before (my own retrofitting of the original brackets in a parking lot the day I picked up my hardtop lol):

And this is the new "racing" version that he designed to address the problem (works PERFECTLY!):

I'll shoot a picture in the morning to better describe this.

Update:

It's hard to tell from the pictures but its pretty far from mounting on the hardtop. I can push the bracket in, but then the 3 holes no longer lines up.

what i would do is bolt the 3 bolts to the top LOOSELY.. where it still has some play then bolt up the bottoms. the fake hardtops have some issues from being stacked on top of one another and they usually bow outwards.. the bracket will help pull the top in wards to its normal fitment . its not the brackets, but its your top im betting.

ive installed a whole lot of replica tops and authentics. i have the izzys brackets on mine now. the top is a lot easier to adjust the way im recomending also. hopefully that helps.

I'll give it another shot when I get my car back. For what it's worth, the top is authentic.

Are you pulling the hardtop down before tightening the bolts (as the OEM hardware does)?

why are u not using the oem seals that the mugen top comes with then?? it looks like you threw a ton of stuff under there..i never got any wind noise with my mugen/oem seals.

i havent seen the authentics bow out before, i guess id need to see it in person. authentics are packed in boxes before they are shipped over in the containers so they dont get stacked like the replicas.

and yes i pull the top down/inward if it doesnt fit right. dont pull it to hard if the material doesnt flex enough. you should be good tho.
