JDM BBS wheel and Hoosier A3S04 weights
Ok, I needed to know SO BAD, that I went to UPS to have them weighed.
A3S04s on JDM BBS Wheels, no wheel weights, about 20 runs on tires:
Front 35.00
Rear 35.12
So Julianne, you were pretty much on the money!
Unfortunately for me, that puts me JUST overweight.....
grrrrrrrrr

Well, to reconfirm my wheel weights, when I went to the airport and checked in the tires ( I strapped a front and a rear together with 2 bungee cords and used 2 circular pieces of cardboard that I taped on hte open ends of the wheels for protection. That ended up weighing 71.5 pounds. Which is about right, since the bungee cords, the cardboard and the tape prolly weighed about a pound.
Problem was, that the weight limit for checked baggage at Frontier is 70 pounds. After kissing some A55, they didn't charge me extra. PHEW. Now if this was the stock USDM wheels, no way would I have made the weight. Thank you JDM wheels!!!!
For anyone thinking of transporting wheels, FYI it is a major pain. First off, some airlines may reject them altogether. Second, every airline has different rules. I fly Frontier to Farmington becuase they have a 3 bag checkin allowance and each bag can weigh up to 70 pounds. Southwest is even more generous, at 80 pounds. United, American, and other big carriers are stingy becuase they only allow you to check in 2 pieces, with at limit of 50 pounds! If you go oversize or overweight, it's an extra $80! Total BS!
