Default Jersey Devil 12 Hour Race

Anyone going to be at NJMP this weekend for the 12 hour race? I got a ride in a Miata for the race.

There was a black S2000 there, but it only did 6 laps, according to the results on RMonitor. I saw it go back to the paddock under its own power.

We finished 30th overall, out of 51 cars, after starting 39th. We did 367 laps.

We did this on only 7 tires, though we would have been faster in the afternoon if we had put new tires on the rear. Car got very loose. I had my fastest lap time after dark, when we had replaced outside tires. One driver had an off into the tire wall at the 8th hour, so we had to fix a crunched fender, and replace that tire.

Nice you were running one of the flatout cars? Sounds like the race was very busy for all! BY THE WAY turns out my other buddy didn't run either he was supposed to run one of the RST cars.

Have to say all this excitement and people I know in scca vs nasa makes me want to build my car towards scca instead of nasa, just have no idea where I would fit in, and don't understand how ite works yet.

That was my team in the no 1 black s2000. We ruined a set of injectors with some dirty fuel during testing on Friday and couldn't clean them up in time for the start. Couldn't source another set on Saturday no matter how hard we tried. A real shame and big disappointment for the whole team.

Hoping to turn it around for the VIR13hr in the fall.

Sorry to hear of your troubles, Paddy. I carry a spare set of injectors in my trailer, but I did not have my trailer at NJMP, since I was in my friends Miata. Good luck at VIR.

Do you race at any of the SCCA sprint races?

No, I was in a friend's Miata, Rhinoceros Racing team. Low budget, but we had fun.

SCCA ITE is a catch all for IT cars, with greater preparation than the other IT classes. You may want to check with the Technical inspectors with the regions that you want to run with, so see what, if any rules, they have. Greg G. from upstate NY with his red car, I think runs in IT. You may want to discuss with him. The WDC SCCA Region lists some ITE rules and they refer to some NASA classes.
