Default Keeping stats in autox

Does anyone keep stats on their autox events to see what works in certain conditions and what works in others?

Example - tire pressures, shock and sway bar settings, ambiant temp and humidity, track surface condition (smooth surface, rough, etc.), amount of fuel in tank at start, etc.

If so, have you found them useful or a waste of time? What program do you put the stats in - database, spreadsheet, something else?
Thanks
Warren

I'm sure they would be very useful, at least if you keep the right stats. Similar stats are very useful in all other branches of motorsports. No reason why auto-x would be different.

I don't keep stats, because times from one course are meaningless on the next course. I keep notes after the event on what tweaks seem to work, and what tweaks don't. The things I tweak include tires, tire pressures, and sway bar settings. But it's all pretty subjective.

I'm hoping that two days at the Evolution driving school are much more useful for my autocross education than my efforts to figure it out, three or four runs at a time.

That just means that raw times are not a useful correlation parameter. It doesn't mean that stats are useless. You just have to figure out how to use them.

One of the better drivers in my region keeps some stats. He records info like the number of runs, run times, tires, pressures, track conditions, and his PAX standing. The run time and tire info helps keep track of how long different tires last; the PAX standing is the comparison of how fast he drives.

I've taken his suggestion regarding the run times and tire info. PAX times I don't record - the same guys seem to beat me every time
